Tätigkeitsprofil:

  • Scientific, strategic, and operational management of the Mass Spectrometry Core Facility
  • Leading, supervising, and further developing a multidisciplinary team of engineer and technicians
  • Independently allocating resources—such as measurement time and data analysis—prioritizing projects, and ensuring an efficient workflow
  • Independent development and enforcement of guidelines, such as workflows/standard operating procedures, user policies, protocols, and quality and safety procedures
  • Ensuring high standards regarding laboratory and measurement performance, analytical quality, data integrity, and key performance indicators
  • Independently managing the Core Facility’s budget
  • Securing additional funding for equipment, infrastructure, and technology development
  • Ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines, regulatory requirements, and laboratory safety standards
  • Independently fostering a culture focused on quality, integrity, safety, and continuous improvement, e.g., through training, internal professional development, and active participation in the FMP’s internal and external communications
  • Defining and implementing the scientific and strategic direction of the Core Facility to support the institute’s research priorities
  • Supporting technological innovation through the evaluation and implementation of new mass spectrometry platforms, methods, and workflows
  • Ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment and analytical capabilities
  • Providing scientific expertise in the areas of experimental design, method development, and data analysis by independently advising applicants on research questions and appropriate methods, contributing to the scientific research design, data analysis, and interpretation, as well as contributing to scientific publications
  • Serving as the primary scientific point of contact for internal and external users of the Core Facility
  • Establishing and strengthening research collaborations with partners from academia, clinical settings, and industry
  • Supporting interdisciplinary research through joint project development

Anforderungsprofil:

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Proteomics, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and extensive practical experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in proteomics with a proven track record of accomplishment, ideally involving low-abundance samples applications
  • 8+ years of practical experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting LC-MS instrumenta-tion
  • A proven track record of success in method development and optimization in the field of LC-MS
  • Ability to identify and implement state-of-the-art technologies to ensure the organization’s com-petitiveness
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for experimental design and data analysis
  • Proven expertise in regulated environments and in the area of quality management systems
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, including experience in person-nel management and budget management
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse user groups
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants and fostering research collaborations
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
